Welcome to The Edge PDF Print E-mail

We are thrilled to announce that the 2008 ILC is going to be held in Kiev, Ukraine!  We want to use this opportunity to invite all of the leadership from around the world to be a part of this edgy, life changing experience!

The movement in Eurasia started in 1991, when Andy and Tammy Fleming moved from Los Angeles to plant and lead a church on the completely other edge of the map, in Moscow, Russia.  In its first year the Moscow church saw 850 baptisms!  With an urgent desire to spread the Gospel throughout the entire Soviet Union, the very next year the 8 month-old church organized and sent out 3 new mission teams, mostly composed of 6 month-old disciples.

Kiev was one of the three new churches planted in 1992.  With 504 at the first service and 28 baptisms in the first week, it was clear to us on the mission team that God had truly prepared the hearts of the Ukrainian people.  We were truly living on the Edge!

“The Ukraine” (Україна) literally means, “at the Edge”, as in the farthest border or edge of the Russian empire.  What an appropriate theme for our church this year as we push ourselves to the spiritual edge and strive to reach all nations, cities and villages - to reach the furthest edges of our planet with the Gospel of Christ.

This year the Kiev church is celebrating its 16th anniversary!  The church is currently 2000 members strong and growing steadily.

At the 2008 ILC in Kiev, Ukraine, we will use God’s double-edged sword, His Word, to challenge our hearts and mold them to serve Christ, and to be transformed further and further into His likeness.

As we strive to live our lives completely on the edge for Christ, as far as possible from the sinful patterns of the world, His word is calling us to walk with the Spirit and deny ourselves and to lay down our lives for his Mission.  That is life on the Edge!

May God Be Glorified!

TO ALL ILC REGISTRANTS:

We were honored as the leadership group of the Kiev Church to be chosen two years ago to host the 2008 International Leadership Conference (ILC) which has played such a key role in the fellowship, unity and maturity of our movement as we have sought a new dynamic for growing healthy churches that work together to accomplish God's will for the nations.  Last year in Los Angeles about 100 leaders from outside the USA attended the ILC. This year already more than 600 people from outside of the US are registered for the ILC, most coming from 3rd world countries.  Read More
