Tips and Important Information for Your Trip
(PRINT THIS AND TAKE IT WITH YOU)
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
As we are only a few days away from the opening of the International Leadership
Conference - The EDGE - I wanted to take a moment to write you a note and
thank you for your participation in this year’s conference. This will be the first ILC
outside the borders of the United States in over 10 years, and the first
international conference ever to be held in a non-English speaking country. This
will be a unique experience for us all, and I believe that it will change the lives of
all the participants and, through our prayers and God’s grace, the lives of
thousands and even millions as a result!
I want to give you some traveling tips as someone who has made this trip many
times.

We were honored as the leadership group of the Kiev Church to be chosen two years ago to host the 2008 International Leadership Conference (ILC) which has played such a key role in the fellowship, unity and maturity of our movement as we have sought a new dynamic for growing healthy churches that work together to accomplish God's will for the nations. Last year in Los Angeles about 100 leaders from outside the USA attended the ILC. This year already more than 600 people from outside of the US are registered for the ILC, most coming from 3rd world countries.
As exciting as the increased international participation is, the reality is that this year's participation from the first world has not been substantial enough to meet the expenses of the conference. Several things have contributed to this shortfall. The devaluation of the dollar has seriously affected the number of people churches can afford to send. The cost of oil and airfare has more than doubled since we chose Kiev as the ILC site, and inflation in Kiev this year is close to 35%. The challenging economic times across the country and the world have put a major strain on everyone’s budgets. This of course was not possible to predict in 2006 when Kiev was chosen to host the 2008 ILC.
After conferring with many brothers from around the world, we have decided that it is crucial that the ILC not be cancelled due to economic conditions and budgetary constraints. We want to continue the momentum God is building among us in our churches, but in order to do this responsibly it has become necessary to add an additional registration fee of $100 per person for participants from first world churches and $50 for participants from third world churches.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to all who have already paid the additional registration fee. Because of your prompt and supportive responses we have been able to continue the preparation for the conference without losing time or momentum.
If you have not paid the additional registration fee yet, please click here to pay. You will receive an automatic receipt by email.
If any churches or Christians would like to contribute to helping with the funding of the 2008 ILC, please click here to donate.
We greatly appreciate the hearts of the members to strive for unity in the body of Christ, and we are grateful for everyone's willingness to share the cost between those who are planning to participate. We feel that this is going to be a truly life changing event, and we are grateful to God and to you, our brothers and sisters from around the globe, that it will continue as planned. Without you this event would not be possible.
Thank You,
The ILC Planning Committee
